WeDesi Community Association (WCA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in the Tri-Valley, Bay Area California, dedicated to strengthening and uplifting the local Desi community through meaningful community projects and initiatives. Our mission is to support individuals across generations by creating opportunities for connection, learning, service, and mutual support. WCA works with families, seniors, youth, and community partners to address evolving community needs while preserving cultural identity and fostering unity. Through collaborative programs and volunteer-led initiatives, WCA strives to build a stronger, more engaged, and resilient community.
Swadesi Seniors is a signature initiative of WeDesi Community Association (WCA), created during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the growing isolation and loneliness experienced by seniors in our community. What began as a simple Zoom gathering quickly became a vital source of connection, joy, and emotional support.
WCA Youth In Action is a structured youth leadership and service program for middle school and high school students, created to nurture compassionate, responsible, and socially engaged young individuals.
The program provides students with meaningful opportunities to serve their community through hands-on volunteer work, civic engagement, cultural programs, and intergenerational service initiatives. By working closely with community members, seniors, and local partners, youth learn that service is not an obligation—but a powerful way to create connection, purpose, and positive change.
